Kgalagadi – January 2014

On January the 8th we left Melkbosstrand at 04h00 to start the long drive to the Kgalagadi. The group consists of two vehicles (Land Rover Defender and Cruiser double cab bakkie, with myself, Pieter, Christo, Ali and Chris). It is a long day’s travel and beside filling up for fuel, we push straight through until we almost reached the border.

We pull into the Molopo Lodge for a couple of beers where we met up with Marinus.

12th: The day we will remember as the hottest day ever. We decided to go to Twee Rivieren and spend the day at the pool. Back at the camp Chris prepares steak and chips for us.  The wind picks up and the little fellows with the pincers and stingers rock up….by the dozens.
